THE THOMPSON FAMILIES, OSUL & PETE

Osul Thompson was born in Oslo, Norway, in 1850.  He came to America in 1870 at the age of twenty years.  He was married to Miss Bena Nelson in 1876 in Doniphan County, Kansas.  They had two sons, George born in 1877 and Arnia, in 1879.  They came to Norway in the spring of 1880 and settled on a farm east of Norway.  A daughter Olivia was born in 1885 and a son Oscar in 1889 on this farm.

Mr. and Mrs. Osul Thompson and all the families were members of the Norway Lutheran Church, and all the children received their education in the Norway school.

Pete Thompson was Osul Thompson's brother.  His wife was Mrs. Osul Thompson's sister.  Their children were Lillie, Victor, Pearl, Addie Rodde, and Lester, and one daughter deceased.

Osul Thompson came to America to establish a home.  Land was not easily obtained near Oslo.  One year later, in 1872, his brother Pete, his mother and a sister came to America.  They are all deceased and buried in Valley Pioneer Cemetery.

Arnie Thompson married Lollie Jacobson in 1901.  Olivia married Guy Mathews in 1906.  These families moved to Geary, Oklahoma in 1907.
