MABEL, MARY ELLEN, AND OPAL BREWER

Mabel, Opal and Mary Ellen all served as organists at the Norway Lutheran Church.  Mabel belonged to the Golden rule Club, an organization in the church.  She is a graduate of the Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas, and received a teacher's certificate in piano, violin, and public school music.  She played in the college orchestra and other music groups and was a member of the Monroe Civic Orchestra for ten years, a social worker for the Michigan State Department of Social Welfare at the Monroe County Bureau of Social Aid for eleven yeas in 1961.  Opal and Mary Ellen were charter members of the Norway Cardinal Club.  Opal and son, Robert, are owners and operators of the Monroe Electric Supply, a wholesale electric company.  Mary Elen attended the College of Emporia, where she was a music student.  She played in the college orchestrra and sang in the Acappella Choir.  She also was a member of the Monroe Civic Orchestra while living in Ann Arbor.  She is now a housewife.

Mabel, Opal and Mary Ellen are members of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War.  Mary Ellen is a member and past-president of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, and Mabel is a member of the Eastern Star, and a past mother advisor of the Rainbow Club for girls.

Mary Ellen has one son, Jerry.  Opal has one son, Bob.  Their fathers were Neil and Carl Miller, both deceased.  Mary Ellen has remarried, to William E. Woelmer.  Mabel has two daughters, Marilyn and Barbara.  Marilyn has a boy and a girl.  Barbara has a boy.  Bob Miller has two boys.
