EJNAR MAGNUS EASTVEDT

Ejnar Magnus Eastvedt was born in Brevik Norway, Europe, January 29, 1873, one of eleven children.  His father, Lars Oatvedt, passed away when Ejner was four years old.  Ten years later, 1887 he was sent to America to his grandfather, T. A. Nelson, Sr., who was living at Brantford, Kansas.  Later, he lived with his uncle T. A. Nelson, Jr. on the farm 1/4 mile east of Norway, Kansas. 

January 26, 1898 he was married to Albertine Hammer, daughter of Peder and Ingeborg Hammer.  Two daughters were born to this union, Laura Eastvedt now Mrs. Dale Ainsworth, and Iola Eastvedt, now Mrs Martin Larson.  Mr. Eastvedt's occupation was farming.  For years he farmed the Ole Olsen farm two miles south of Norway.

In 1918 the Eastvedts bought the John Ingebretson farm and lived there until 1942.  They then moved to Scandia, purchasing the Anna Larson home where Mr. Eastvedt lived until his death, May 8, 1954, and where Mrs. Eastvedt continues to make her home.

Ejnar and Albertine Eastvedt were the parents of two daughters Laura and Iola.

Laura married Dale Ainsworth.  They reared a son and a daughter, and live in Leawood, Kansas.  Iola married Martin Larson.  They have reared two sons and two daughters, Pauline married Harold Smith and lives in Haysville, Kansas; Ila Marie married Lloyd Barleen and lives in Waterville, Kansas; Glenn married Cynthia Ames and lives on Route 2, Scandia, Kansas; and Ralph married Nona Morgan and lives on Rout 2, Concordia, Kansas.
