Daniel Kershner was a very early settler in Norway Township. He was a Civil War veteran and a homesteader in Section 8. Mrs. Kershner came from the East and Married Daniel Kershner in Norway Township.
They reared two sons, Luther King and Jerry. Luther, the older son, went on a trip around the world. In the Pacific Islands, he contacted a fever and after awhile he came home. He did not recover an died a short time after returning to his home. Jerry Kershner was a veteran of World War I. He received a high rank while in the Armed forces. Later he came to Concordia and was engaged in business there. He owns property in Section 8 in Norway Township where hi father had a homestead.
