Jacob Moorehead was born in 1855. He married Miss Swyhart. They lived in Norway Township west of the river for ten years in pioneer days. They moved to Jewell County where they had purchased a farm and lived there for many years. Mr. Moorhead died in 1938 at the age of 83 years.
