BUER AND KELLY FAMILIES

Edmund Buer was born in Bergen in Norway in Europe in 1861 and came to Illinois in American in 1878 and one year later, in 1879, to Republic County, Kansas.  He married Miss Amelia Olsen who was born in 1872 in a dugout in the bank of Buffalo Creek in Cloud County, Kansas.  Her parents were born in Oslo, Norway, Europe.  Edmund and Amelia Buer reared a large family of eight daughters and one son, Harry.

There daughters are Anna Scott, Ella Young, Julia Spelts, Clara Berry (deceased), Gladys Northcott, Mildred Bennet, Alma Frederickson and Margaret Davidson.

Harry Buer, son of Edmund Buer, married Miss Elda Kelly, the daughter of Wilbur and Mary Kelly.  She was the great granddaughter of William J. and Mary Kelly who were among the first settlers on the east side of Norway Township.  The Kellys are of Irish descent and came to Norway Township from New Corydon, Indiana.

Wilbur and Mary Kelly reared one son and two daughters: Marvin, Vila Fall and Elda Buer.

Harry and Elda Buer are the parents of four children; two daughters, Rosalie Edwards, Jewell, Kansas, and Inez Lambert, Concordia, Kansas, and two sons, Edmund and Bruce, Norway Township.  They have eight grandchildren.

Edmund lives on the farm of his grandfather, Edmund Buer, purchased by his father Harry Buer.  Harry and his son operate a large dairy and farm.
