Norway Wednesday Club was organized October 13, 1909. Organization meeting was held with Mrs. Frank Dickerhoof at her home in Norway. The charter members were: President Mrs. Lide Moore, Secretary Mrs. Charles Hugos, Treasurer Mrs. Dave Dickerhoof; Mrs. Arthur Norris, Mrs. Dan Hanson, Mrs. A. J. Brewer, Mrs. Wm. Decker, Mrs. James Carney. In 1939 they celebrated their 30th anniversary, in 1959 their 50th anniversary and in 1961 their 52nd. Mrs. Dave Dickerhoof is the only remaining charter member.
Although this is a social club they donate to several worthwhile projects. At one time they established a library in Norway, donated to the ball clubs and the Veterans Memorial in Norway. Now to the Red Cross, Heart fund, March of Dimes and the Cancer fund. Occasionally to other funds. More than a hundred women have been members of this club. The 1961 and 1961 officers are Mrs. Fred Ames president, Mrs. Alfred Hammer Vice President, and Miss Ollie Hugos Secretary-Treasurer. There are now fifteen members.
