In 1961, my Great-Grandmother's Sister-in-law, Madge Bischoff Dickerhoof, wrote "THIS IS A STORY of NORWAY VILLAGE and NORWAY TOWNSHIP in REPUBLIC COUNTY, KANSAS from 1869 to 1961". My copy has some damage, but this blog is an effort to transcribe the text as accurately as possible (including embedded flaws), and make it available to other members of our family...however distant.

MR. JOHANNUS
A very interesting old gentleman is Mr. Johannus, salesman for the Swedish Produce Company of Chicago since the early nineties. Frank Dickerhoof was one of his earliest customers. Along the way he has visited his cutomers regularly and Mrs. Karen Ross who is a retired customer, also the late Owen Brewer until his death. He calls regularly on Cecil Dickerhoof, (grandson of J. F. D.) who has just received stock fish as part of his latest order to Mr. Johannus for the Swedish Produce Company.
