In 1961, my Great-Grandmother's Sister-in-law, Madge Bischoff Dickerhoof, wrote "THIS IS A STORY of NORWAY VILLAGE and NORWAY TOWNSHIP in REPUBLIC COUNTY, KANSAS from 1869 to 1961". My copy has some damage, but this blog is an effort to transcribe the text as accurately as possible (including embedded flaws), and make it available to other members of our family...however distant.

DANIEL DAVID
Mr. and Mrs. Daniel David homesteaded in Section 32 in Norway Township at an early date. They reared a son John and a daughter Marguerite. John was a farmer and late moved to Montana with his family. He has two daughters and often came back to the homestead. Marguerite went west and became a successful Indian school teacher. When she retired she returned to the homestead and lived there for some time. Milton Stensaas purchased the David farm, and she now makes her home with her family. Milton's property joins the David farm.
